SHARON ON | CHEF

"Cooking is like love: It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." — Harriet van Horne

Chef Sharon believes that every meal must be cooked with the soul. Growing up in the old city of Jerusalem, the chef developed a sensitivity to the spices and aroma of the old-fashioned, Middle Eastern cooking of her mother and grandmother. Many claim to create home-made, old-fashion cooking, yet few truly deliver. Chef Sharon is one of the few who can truly back up that claim.

Inspired by her father's Moroccan and her mother's Syrian roots, chef Sharon creates gourmet cuisine that mixes traditional Middel Eastern and Moroccan dishes with contemporary European tastes. All of her dishes are exclusively glatt kosher, and she only uses spices that are directly imported from Israel.

Chef Sharon immigrated to the United States from Israel in 1998, and in 2006, with a modest investment of $1,800, she started catering for various schools in organizations, often for as much as 400 people at once. Although she seldom advertised her services, the word of her cooking spread among her friends and others who've had the pleasure to taste her dishes. For the past seven years she has catered various holidays and events at the Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles. Her dishes have even been tasted by Sacha Baron Cohen, Demi Moore, and Madonna.

It is easy to see why the chef's culinary expertise has become in-demand -- the dishes taste like they've been prepared with a mother's love. They truly have that home-made taste that takes you back to childhood. The master chef really practices her philosphy of cooking with one own's heart and soul. It is a philosphy that simply begs to be tasted!
